Our big red phonebox is on the road once again. A place where you can pick up the received and listen to Verbatim monologues made with and about the people of Barnsley. After living at the local theatre, The Civic, since January, it’s about to go on a 6 month tour, visiting key areas of Barnsley. The tour is being produced by the brilliant Rachael Walton

Factory is an unflinching verbatim play, shaped from the voices inside the classroom - celebrating the lives and creativity within it.
A new play from multi award-winning campaign led arts charity LUNG, performed by our Next Generation Act young company.
Next Generation is our long-term talent development programme. This production is supported by young trainees from Next Generation Direct and Backstage. It was commissioned as part of a series of events to mark 20 years of the RSC's partnership work with schools and communities across England.

The LUNG Method special edition : Becoming an NPO
In 2023, we became an ACE National Portfolio Organisation and we're opening up our process through a special edition of The LUNG Method.
The LUNG Method began as a way of sharing our approach to making verbatim theatre. This special session turns our attention to the organisational side of the work: how we approached our NPO application, what we included in our business plan, how we built a realistic budget, and how we articulated our artistic vision, governance and long-term strategy.
We'll also talk honestly about what becoming an NPO has actually meant for LUNG - from the opportunities it has created to the practical realities of running a National Portfolio Organisation.
This will be an open, practical conversation where you can ask questions, learn from our experience and connect with others navigating the process.
Whether you're actively preparing an application or simply wondering if NPO is the right next step for your organisation, we'd love you to join us.
